It is still January and it is still the adjustment period. I am in no way saying you need excuses to still be settling into this new year or excuses for anything you feel but sometimes, it is nice to have them. January is always a slog. It feels like that moment on the runway before your holiday begins and takeoff has been halted because there’s a goose on the tarmac. January has a strange aura. If you are feeling the slog, the slow, the still, the stagnation, I can guarantee you that it will pass. I want to encourage you to stop feeling negative towards the slow down though and lean into it. Melt into the lethargic notion. I know you want to shout at the top of your lungs “GET OFF THE TARMAC, GOOSE” but this is our moment to completely unwind before the next eleven months wind us right back up again. This is our time to unshine. To reboot. We are weighed down by the expectations to be busy but we have the whole year to be busy. Watch that show you’ve been meaning to. Read that book. You’ve earned the right to go into standby. To shut down for a while. Claim what you have earned. The plane will take off soon but for now, sit back and relax.
Did you know people slow down songs and they actually sound good? Neither did I but it is a vibe. Check it.
