The hush loves you
I love winter. Partly because I love layers and my hat is rad but mostly because love seems in no short supply. Kindness multiplied by a million almost and I wanted to do a little something to contribute. I want us all to contribute. Whatever your preferred method of contact is, whether you pick up your phone or unfold a piece of paper and whip out your best ballpoint or aim your flashlights to the sky and flex your morse code let us spread love today. For no reason let somebody know you love them. Let them know you care. For no reason let these people know they aren’t alone. That they’re beautiful, they’re special and you are thinking about them.
Kindness is free and we can never give enough of it. A message takes seconds to write but can change a month and can make a year. Savs Grandmother still writes letters in her terrible handwriting that’s like deciphering code every time one finds its way through the letterbox but there’s such a joy to it. There is so much of a person in their handwriting so if you have the time, I encourage the old school. She includes recipes and newspaper clipping from her little corner of the world and for a moment you feel transported. Everything is so instant now we forget the magic of the waiting. Think of episodic tv which seems to be making a small comeback. Remember the anticipation. And as much as I love fast delivery, there’s something thrilling about the unknown. At its core, it’s all about the love. Spread it. Far and wide. Leave notes in coffee shops, libraries, classrooms, etc. Tell your friends you love them more. Hug and hold on too long. Love. Love. Love. Until your heart is a Jackson Pollock painting.
Until next time homies…
