I love a good cliffhanger. Love the phrase cliffhanger itself and whoever got that one to stick was a legend with a capital edge. See what I did there? Probably not, it was dumb. Suspense is such a powerful tool when writing. Anticipation has to pay off big and when that payoff comes and you are presented only half, boy are you applauding whilst screaming. A good cliffhanger says goodnight with the promise of morning. I have served up my first two books as movies. The movies of a life lived. I sense a shift in me, a churning and I feel different to those first books. I feel an evolution brewing. Let me combine all my past works into episodes and title it the first season. Now let us all move forward refreshed and reborn. Stagnation is a state I stay in fear of. I will never say I know enough. Have felt enough or been through enough. There is always more to get so let us go get it. Let me drive this car till the two wheels balance over the edge and rock like a haunted seesaw and I will see you soon, somehow and some way. And until then…

Instead of a 3x3 today, let me share something else. I wrote this poem for a zine called ‘You Are Now An Alien’ coming 2022.

HANGING OFF A CLIFF AND WAITING FOR A VISA APPROVAL ARE SORT OF THE SAME THING.

The sky breaks like a fever

and somebody told me

it only gets better from here.

But I am still dangling,

still holding on,

suspense has dimmed to a flicker

but it’s still kicking.

I am trying my best to let go

because at least the falling

is certain.

At least when I reach the bottom,

I can go home.

I will return, January 12th. See you there for the next season…..
