A poem called the cat

A discussion and a reading of a poem about a stray cat

I wanted to express my longing and desire to belong through the lens of hunger. What better way to do this than by talking about cats? I have a connection with animals; they flock to me and trust me without little introduction. I am no animal whisperer, but I feel a bond quickly. We are getting sucked into our devices and becoming more disconnected from the world around us. Patience is becoming a dwindling thing. I wouldn’t say we are getting less kind, but we are getting less aware of the things that require kindness and time. We can hardly blame ourselves; we are fed everything in short bursts. Now more than ever, it is essential to note that good things take time.
