A list of dope stuff
It literally is what it is
I thought today we could take a little break from the lengthy write-ups and instead, I thought I would share some stuff I think is dope. If this was a series and I had to name it, I would call it ‘Dope Stuff. On the paid side of things, this week I will be reading the newsletters from the weeks before and some dope poems. Subscribe below for just $5, support me and get more content.
Now let’s get down to the business.
Space people - I can’t really explain why this is dope really but I was absolutely fascinated by the fact that we can track the people in space, stalk their wikis and find out odd personal details we never needed to know. Like Zhai Zhigang the space commander loving gadgets. Now you know.
Two poems by Danez Smith - Here is a little poetry tip for you. If you have a favourite poet who isn’t a big poster on the socials, chances are they are getting published elsewhere. Head to their website and see where they are being published and you’ll stumble upon some incredible websites. This is ‘The Paris American’ and it features incredible poems by insane poets.
Let’s make some jumpers - I stumbled upon this article that provides things that could help with mental health. It is far from standard and many you can do right now. If you are feeling down, lost or damn right nothing, work your way through the list. IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE.
Under-five minutes - Usually I am here talking about how attention spans are getting shorter and content is becoming a blink and I am typically expressing sadness towards that, however, did you know that there was an under five-minute film festival? And the thing is, some of these movies are mad dope. Youtube short movies are incredible! They are either really good or awful and the awful ones are so bad they hook you anyway. Get yourself down the rabbit hole. I will meet you there.
Macbeth - There have been many tellings of Macbeth with the most recent being an apple tv movie. If you haven’t seen this, I highly recommend it. Even if you don’t like Shakespeare, check it out. The language might throw you through a spin but good gosh, it is shot wonderfully and the soundtrack is one of my favourites of last year.
And to round off this list of dope stuff, let us end with a little music. More specifically, some dope acoustic music. This stripped-back version was posted today. Enjoy and I will see you for the next one. If you think anybody would like what I do, hit that share button below and get them on board.
As a sneaky little extra, here is the full Macbeth soundtrack.
